Alizée was discovered by Mylène Farmer, following her winning performance in the talent show, the Graines de Star in 1999. While collaborating with Mylène Farmer and Laurent Boutonnat, Alizée released two albums, which were hits inside and outside France.
Alizée entered the music business in 2000. She has since released four albums, the first two, which were composed by Laurent Boutonnat and written by Mylène Farmer. HER first album wasGourmandises, whichreceived Platinum certification within three months after publication.
At its international launch in 2001,Gourmandiseswas a success as delicacies in France and abroad, earning Alizée the distinction of being the best-selling French singer in 2001. The album featured her most successful single "Moi ... Lolita" which reached number one in several countries in Europe and East Asia. Delicacies was followed by another studio album, My Electric Currents in 2003. After its release, Alizée toured in the fall of 2003and performing in43 concerts throughout France,Belgium and Switzerland.
Alizée married French singer Jérémy Chatelain in late 2003. After her marriage she took a break before returning to sing with a new album,Psychédélices, onDecember 3, 2007. Herfourth album, Une Enfant Du Siècle was released onMarch 29, 2010.
In early 2011 Alizée released her participation in a new album of Alain Chamfortand announced plans for a return to roots studio album for spring2012.

Alizée won the M6 award in 2000. She returned with a follow up album, Mes Courants Électriques, in 2003. This second album was also quite successful, though not to the same extent as Gourmandises. It was followed up with a live album of her countrywide tour.
